في لحظة سياسية مفصلية، أعاد قرار رئاسي يمني اسم رئيس الوزراء شائع الزنداني إلى واجهة المشهد، باعتباره أحد أبرز الوجوه الدبلوماسية التي راهنت عليها الدولة في مرحلة شديدة التعقيد، داخليًا وخارجيًا، بعد تكليفه رسميًا بتشكيل الحكومة اليمنية الجديدة.

القرار الذي أصدره رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي رشاد العليمي، جاء عقب استقالة رئيس الوزراء سالم بن بريك، ليفتح الباب أمام شخصية تمتلك خبرة دبلوماسية تمتد لأكثر من ثلاثة عقود، في وقت تبحث فيه اليمن عن توازن سياسي ودبلوماسي دقيق.

رئيس الوزراء شائع الزنداني ليس اسمًا طارئًا على دوائر القرار، فقد شغل قبل تعيينه منصب وزير الخارجية وشؤون المغتربين منذ مارس 2024، وقاد خلاله ملفات شائكة تتعلق بالعلاقات الإقليمية والدولية، وتمثيل اليمن في المنظمات الكبرى.

وُلد الزنداني في مديرية جحاف بمحافظة الضالع، ويحمل دكتوراه فلسفة في القانون، إلى جانب بكالوريوس حقوق، ودكتوراه فخرية في العلوم الدبلوماسية، ما منحه مزيجًا نادرًا بين التكوين الأكاديمي والخبرة العملية.

وعلى الصعيد الدبلوماسي، تنقّل رئيس الوزراء شائع الزنداني بين عواصم القرار، فمثّل اليمن سفيرًا لدى السعودية ومندوبًا دائمًا في منظمة التعاون الإسلامي، وسفيرًا لدى بريطانيا، وإيطاليا، والأردن، إضافة إلى تمثيله اليمن في الأمم المتحدة بجنيف ومنظمة الفاو.

كما شارك في محطات مفصلية من تاريخ اليمن الحديث، من بينها محادثات الوحدة اليمنية عام 1990، وترؤسه وفد اليمن في اجتماع وزراء الخارجية العرب يوم إعلان الوحدة، إلى جانب عضويته في لجان سياسية واقتصادية عليا.

ويُنظر إلى تعيين الزنداني على أنه رهان على الدبلوماسية الهادئة والخبرة الطويلة، في مرحلة تتطلب إدارة دقيقة للأزمات.

In a pivotal political moment, a Yemeni presidential decision has brought Prime Minister Sha'if Al-Zandani back to the forefront, as one of the most prominent diplomatic figures that the state has relied upon during a highly complex phase, both internally and externally, after he was officially tasked with forming the new Yemeni government.

The decision issued by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, came following the resignation of Prime Minister Salem Bin Breik, opening the door for a figure with diplomatic experience spanning over three decades, at a time when Yemen is seeking a precise political and diplomatic balance.

Prime Minister Sha'if Al-Zandani is not a new name in decision-making circles; he previously held the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs since March 2024, during which he led complex files related to regional and international relations, and represented Yemen in major organizations.

Al-Zandani was born in the Jihaf district of Al-Dhale'e Governorate, and holds a PhD in Philosophy of Law, in addition to a Bachelor's degree in Law and an honorary doctorate in diplomatic sciences, which has granted him a rare combination of academic formation and practical experience.

On the diplomatic front, Prime Minister Sha'if Al-Zandani has moved between decision-making capitals, having represented Yemen as an ambassador to Saudi Arabia, a permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and an ambassador to Britain, Italy, and Jordan, in addition to representing Yemen at the United Nations in Geneva and the FAO.

He has also participated in pivotal moments in Yemen's modern history, including the talks for Yemeni unity in 1990, and leading Yemen's delegation at the Arab Foreign Ministers' meeting on the day of the unity declaration, along with his membership in high-level political and economic committees.

Al-Zandani's appointment is viewed as a bet on quiet diplomacy and long experience, at a stage that requires precise crisis management.
